Iulia Rugină
Screenwriter and Storyteller
Iulia Rugină holds a Master's degree and a Ph.D. in Cinematography. She has written and directed 12 short films, including Captivi de Crăciun (2010) and Să mori de dragoste rănită (2014); three feature films; the series Love Building (2013, 2014) and Breaking News (2017); as well as a theatrical play, Neverland (2018). In 2021, she directed 6 out of the 8 episodes of the series Ruxx, produced by HBO Europe. Iulia has been actively involved in film education, working as a project manager and trainer on various projects both in Romania and internationally. Between 2009 and 2023, she served as an assistant and later as a lecturer in Screenwriting at the I.L. Caragiale National University of Theatre and Film, and she currently also works as an international screenplay consultant.
